Magazine Design

Reverie is an 8-page fashion magazine created for my Magazine Design Technology class, designed and produced as part of a collaborative class publication that was perfect bound alongside the work of my peers.
Rooted in the romance of slow fashion, Reverie explores the intersection of fashion, nature, and artistry through a dreamlike visual narrative. Soft photography, refined typography, and structured compositions create an immersive reading experience that celebrates craftsmanship and thoughtful design in fashion. The magazine invites readers to pause, observe, and appreciate fashion as a form of creative expression.

One of the greatest challenges in creating Reverie was balancing visual experimentation with strong editorial structure. Every spread needed to feel cohesive while maintaining enough variety to keep readers engaged. Careful attention was given to typography, image sequencing, and white space to establish a consistent rhythm throughout the publication. Designing within a limited page count also required thoughtful curation, ensuring that every photograph, layout, and design element contributed meaningfully to the magazine's narrative.
-
These challenges were addressed through an iterative design process that emphasized refinement and consistency. Multiple layout variations were explored before selecting compositions that best supported the editorial narrative, while a carefully curated type hierarchy and restrained color palette unified each spread. By thoughtfully pairing imagery with intentional use of negative space, the final magazine achieves a balance between visual impact and readability, creating an immersive publication that feels both polished and cohesive.
